Sometimes people call MADD "Mothers Against Drunk Drivers" but our official name is "Mothers Against Drunk Driving". Perhaps at the beginning of our history we have even used the other name. People will swear they never meant to hurt anyone, but the results of driving drunk are the same whether they meant to cause harm or not. The fact is that a vehicle is a lethal weapon, big enough to kill a whole school bus full of children. And it's especially dangerous when operated by an impaired driver. Alcohol is a factor in hundreds of roadway deaths and thousands of injuries in Virginia every year. These tragedies don't have to happen. MADD works to prevent drunk driving, offer advocacy to the victims of this violent crime and prevent underage drinking. Office Staff Executive Director - Chris R.
